In 1830, three months after signing the Indian Removal Act into law, US President Andrew Jackson met the Chickasaw Chiefs in Franklin, Tennessee to discuss removal from their ancestral lands in the American South to west of the Mississippi River. Old Times in Tennessee is an examination of that historically overlooked meeting, as well as a meditation on modern life in this landscape nearly 200 years later.
