Thelma Battle is Franklin, TN’s eminent African-American Historian & Preservationist. A recipient of the J. Paul Getty Award, Thelma talks about the urgency of her work, and remembers old times in Franklin relating to local church history; challenges of African-American genealogy; slavery and religion; African-American places, farms, and cemeteries; and integration in Franklin.
